Key Takeaways

  • •If a city wants to create a charter commission, they must hold a special vote.
  • •The vote must happen on the next regular election day, but at least 88 days after the city decides to do it.
  • •The city leaders must call for this vote after they get a request or decide to do it themselves.

Example

A group of people in a town want to change how their local government works, so they ask the city leaders to create a charter commission.
