§ 27233 Grantee Deed Index Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •The recorder must keep a list of deeds called 'Grantees'.
  • •This list has three parts: who got the property, who gave the property, and where it's written down.
  • •This helps people find information about who owns what property.

Example

You want to find out who owns the house next door.

You can look at the 'Grantees' list at the recorder's office. It will tell you who got the house, who sold it, and where this info is written down.
