§ 23330 Petition Certification Transmission

Key Takeaways

  • •If a group of people sign a petition and it gets approved, the local government must send a copy of that approval to the Governor.
  • •This is just about sending a paper to the Governor—nothing else happens here.
  • •The law was added in 1974 and hasn’t changed since.

Example

A bunch of people in a county sign a petition asking for a new park. The county approves the petition.

The county must then send a copy of that approval to the Governor. That’s it—no park is built yet, no money is spent, they just have to tell the Governor.
