§ 23269 County Boundary Election Notice

Key Takeaways

  • •The election notice must clearly explain what is being voted on and how the county lines will change if it passes.
  • •People can write short arguments (for or against) to be included in the voting guide, but they must submit them 54 days before the election.
  • •Only one 'for' and one 'against' argument will be picked to go in the voting guide.
  • •Arguments can't be longer than 500 words and need up to 3 signatures.

Example

Your county wants to change its borders, and there's a vote about it.

The voting notice will tell you what the new borders would look like and when the vote happens. If you want to say why you think it's a good or bad idea, you can write a short argument and send it in early. But only one 'yes' and one 'no' argument will be printed for everyone to read.
