§ 23236 County Boundary Transfer Petitions

• •If a piece of land with no people living on it wants to move from one county to another, the owners of at least 1/4 of that land can start the process.
• •The owners must sign a petition to ask for the move.
• •The petition must follow all the other rules listed in this part of the law.

Imagine there's a big empty field that's currently part of County A, but the owners want it to be part of County B instead.

If the owners of at least 1/4 of that empty field sign a petition asking to move to County B, they can start the process. They have to make sure their petition follows all the rules in the law.
