§ 21251 Emergency Benefit Payment Account

Key Takeaways

  • •The board can give emergency money to people who need it fast.
  • •This money is just a guess, not the exact amount they should get.
  • •If the guess is wrong, they will fix it later.
  • •The money given early will be taken out of the real benefits later.

Example

A person loses their job and needs money right away to pay rent.

The board can give them some money quickly to help, but it might not be the exact amount they should get. Later, they will check and fix it if it was too much or too little. The quick money will be taken out of the real benefits they get later.
