§ 19605 Supervisory Employee Demonstration Projects

Key Takeaways

  • •Bosses (supervisors) can't be part of a special work project unless their boss and their worker group agree in writing.
  • •If workers don't have a union, the boss must talk with them and any worker groups fairly before starting a special project.
  • •Talking fairly means both sides must listen, share ideas, and try to agree.

Example

A government office wants to start a new project to test a different work schedule.

Before starting, the boss must get written permission from the supervisors' worker group. If some workers don't have a union, the boss must sit down with them and any groups representing them to talk about the project and try to agree on how it will work.
