§ 19603 Demonstration Project Termination Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •Demonstration projects can't last longer than 5 years, unless they need extra time to check the results.
  • •If the project causes big problems or isn't good for the public, workers, or the government, it can be stopped early.
  • •Either the board or the boss in charge can decide to end the project if it's causing trouble.

Example

A new work schedule is tested at a government office to see if it helps employees work better.

If after 2 years, the new schedule makes it hard for people to do their jobs or causes problems for the public, the boss or the board can say, 'This isn't working. Let's stop it.'
