§ 16394 State Pay Roll Fund Transfers

Key Takeaways

  • •If money is added back to the State Pay Roll Revolving Fund because a check was canceled, that money must be moved to the original fund it was supposed to come from.
  • •The Controller is in charge of making sure this transfer happens.
  • •This rule helps make sure money goes back to the right place when a payment is canceled.

Example

Imagine the state writes a check from the State Pay Roll Revolving Fund to pay a teacher, but the check gets canceled. The money that was set aside for that check goes back into the fund.

The Controller will then move that money to the original fund, like the school district's fund, where it was supposed to come from in the first place.
