§ 14673 State Property Transfer Approval

Key Takeaways

  • •The state can move land from one state group to another if the boss (director) says it's okay in writing.
  • •If the land isn't used by any state group, the main department can handle moving it.
  • •The boss can decide if money should be paid from the group getting the land to the group giving it up.
  • •The county must record the land move for free if asked.

Example

A state park wants to give some of its empty land to a state school so the school can build new classrooms.

The boss (director) can say yes in writing, and the school might pay the park some money for the land. The county will write down that the land now belongs to the school, and they won’t charge anything for doing this.
