§ 12800 State Agency Fiscal Oversight

Key Takeaways

  • •California has big groups (agencies) that handle different things like business, roads, health, and the environment.
  • •Each group has a boss (secretary) who makes sure the money is spent wisely.
  • •The boss checks how well each part of the group is doing and tries to make things work better.

Example

The Transportation Agency is in charge of fixing roads and highways.

The boss of this agency makes sure the money for fixing roads is spent the right way. They check if the roadwork is done well and on time. If a road project is taking too long or costs too much, the boss will try to fix the problem.
