§ 12757 Community Program Policy Boards

Key Takeaways

  • •If a group in charge of helping the community gives big decisions to a smaller group, that smaller group must include different kinds of people from the area.
  • •The smaller group must let local leaders, like elected officials, join if they want to.
  • •This rule makes sure the smaller group really represents the whole community.

Example

A town has a big group that decides how to spend money on things like food banks and job training. They create a smaller group to make these decisions faster.

The smaller group can't just be a few friends—it has to include people from all over town, like teachers, business owners, and even the mayor if they want to join. This way, everyone’s voice is heard.
