§ 12753 Community Involvement In Programs

Key Takeaways

  • •Community groups must let everyone in the community have a say in their programs.
  • •They must make sure all groups, especially poor people, get a fair chance to be part of decisions.
  • •If some groups feel left out, they can ask to be included.

Example

A food bank in a town only lets rich people decide how to give out food.

The food bank must change its rules so poor people can also help decide how food is given out. If poor people feel ignored, they can ask to join the group that makes decisions.
