§ 11373 Medical Practice Hearings

Key Takeaways

  • •If a doctor has a hearing with a special judge, the usual rules for fair hearings apply.
  • •But if the Medical Practice Act has different rules, those rules are used instead.
  • •This is about making sure doctor hearings are fair and follow the right steps.

Example

A doctor is accused of doing something wrong at work, like making a big mistake with a patient.

The doctor will have a hearing with a judge. Normally, the hearing follows the regular fair hearing rules, but if the Medical Practice Act says something different (like giving the doctor extra time to prepare), then those special rules are used instead.
