§ 11291 State Agency Payment Enforcement

Key Takeaways

  • •If a state office doesn't pay its bills for services set by the Department of General Services, the department can take the money directly from the office's budget.
  • •The state's money manager (Controller) must then pay the Department of General Services from that office's funds.
  • •This rule makes sure state offices pay their bills on time.

Example

A state park office uses cleaning services from the Department of General Services but refuses to pay the bill.

The Department of General Services can take the money owed directly from the park office's budget, and the Controller will make sure the payment happens.
