§ 8202 Public Enforcement Order Disclosure

Key Takeaways

  • •The boss (commissioner) must share final decisions about punishments for banks with everyone.
  • •If the boss changes or cancels a punishment, they must share that too.
  • •If sharing the punishment could hurt the bank’s safety, the boss can wait a little before telling everyone.

Example

A bank breaks the rules, and the boss punishes them by making them pay a fine.

The boss must tell everyone about the fine. But if telling everyone right away could make the bank unsafe, the boss can wait a bit before sharing the news.
