§ 4858 Purchaser Rights After Sale

Key Takeaways

  • •If you buy a bank or savings place, you can keep their offices open as your own.
  • •If the place you bought did trust business (like managing money for others), you can keep doing that if you're a California bank or savings place.
  • •The government will give you the right papers to run these offices and do the same business.

Example

Bank A buys Bank B, which has 10 branches and does trust business.

Bank A can now use all 10 of Bank B’s branches as their own. If Bank A is a California bank, they can also keep doing the trust business that Bank B was doing. The government will give Bank A the papers they need to do this.
