§ 22054 Conditional Sales Exemption

Key Takeaways

  • •This law doesn't apply to real sales agreements for personal items.
  • •The sale must be real, not a trick to avoid following the law.
  • •If you're truly selling something (like a phone or bike) with conditions, this law doesn't stop you.

Example

You sell your old laptop to a friend but agree they can return it if it breaks within a week.

This law doesn’t care about your deal because it’s a real sale, not a sneaky way to avoid rules.
