§ 18476 Member And Special Member Definitions

Key Takeaways

  • •This law talks about two types of members: regular members and special members.
  • •Regular members are companies that must join the Guaranty Corporation.
  • •Special members are those whose savings are protected by the government or an approved private company.

Example

Imagine you have a savings account at a local bank.

If that bank is a 'special member,' your money is safe even if the bank has problems, because it's protected by the government or another big company.
