§ 704 Director'S Appointment Authority

(a) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the director is the appointing power of all employees within the department, and all employees in the department are responsible to the director for the proper carrying out of the duties and responsibilities of their respective positions. (b) The changes made to subdivision (a) during the 2001–02 Regular Session of the Legislature are declaratory of existing law. (Amended by Stats. 2001, Ch. 398, Sec. 1.5. Effective January 1, 2002.)
