§ 10514 State Game Refuge Control

This law says the state wildlife department runs all state game refuges and its staff, like game wardens, can go inside anytime to do their jobs.

Key Takeaways

  • •All state game refuges are managed by the wildlife department.
  • •Department staff, game wardens, and law‑enforcement officers can enter refuges whenever they need to.
  • •The rule helps protect birds, mammals, fish, amphibians, and reptiles on the refuges.

Example

A game warden needs to check a lake in a refuge to make sure protected fish are safe.

Because the refuge is controlled by the wildlife department, the warden is allowed to enter the refuge at any time to do that check.
