§ 2203 Mammal Care Facility Grants

This law creates a grant program that gives money to places that care for mammals and also sets rules for committee members to get travel pay.

Key Takeaways

  • •Grants can be used for maintenance, operations, and capital improvements of mammal care facilities.
  • •Emergency grants have an expedited review process.
  • •Committee members who are eligible can receive per diem and mileage according to department rules.

Example

A wildlife shelter that rescues injured raccoons wants to apply for a grant to fix its building after a storm.

Because the shelter cares for mammals, it can apply for a grant to help pay for repairs, and the grant program has a fast‑track review for emergencies.
