§ 10510 Refuge Taking Prohibition

• •If a refuge says you can't take wildlife, that rule stays in force.
• •Open‑season rules from other places do not override refuge rules.

A hunter sees that deer hunting is allowed in a nearby state park during October and decides to go into a nearby wildlife refuge to hunt deer.

Even though deer hunting is open in the park, the refuge still says no hunting, so the hunter would be breaking the law by taking a deer there.
