§ 7143 Dmv Emancipation Record Removal

Key Takeaways

  • •If a court cancels a kid's emancipation (being legally free from parents), the DMV gets told right away.
  • •The DMV will remove the emancipation info from their system.
  • •Any ID card that says the kid is emancipated becomes invalid (doesn't work anymore).

Example

A 16-year-old gets emancipated but later the court says it was a mistake.

The DMV will be told to erase the emancipation from their records, and the teen's ID card showing they're emancipated won't work anymore.
