§ 9155 Laboratory Certificate Enforcement

Key Takeaways

  • •The government can say no to giving or renewing a special certificate if the person or place doesn't follow the rules.
  • •They must tell the person why they said no or took the certificate away.
  • •If the person fixes the problem, they can get the certificate back.
  • •If someone is unhappy with the decision, they can ask for another look and even appeal.

Example

A food testing lab doesn't clean their equipment like the rules say.

The government can take away their certificate until they start cleaning properly. The lab will get a letter explaining why. Once they clean up, they can get their certificate back. If they think it's unfair, they can ask for another review.
