§ 79252 Blueberry Market Price Reporting

Key Takeaways

  • •The law helps keep blueberry selling fair in California by sharing real sale prices with everyone involved.
  • •No one can see who reported the prices or their personal info—it’s kept secret.
  • •Only big-picture info, like average prices, can be shared publicly.
  • •The way prices are collected and shared has to be approved by the state.

Example

A blueberry farmer wants to know if they’re getting a fair price for their berries.

The law makes sure the farmer can see average prices from other sales, so they know if they’re being treated fairly. But they won’t know which other farmers or sellers gave those prices—it’s all kept private.
