§ 77813 Referendum Period Establishment

Key Takeaways

  • •The government sets a time (10 to 60 days) for people to vote on something important.
  • •If the voting time is less than 60 days, they can make it longer, but not more than 60 days.
  • •The people in charge can add extra rules to make sure the voting is fair and works well.

Example

Imagine your school is voting on whether to have pizza or tacos for lunch every Friday.

The principal says everyone gets 10 to 60 days to vote. If they first say 20 days but realize more kids need time, they can change it to 40 days, but not more than 60. They might also add rules like 'no campaigning near the voting box' to keep it fair.
