§ 73255 Navel Orange Exemption Rules

• •If you grow navel oranges just for your family or as decoration, these rules don’t apply to you.
• •You must tell the commission in writing that your oranges aren’t for selling.
• •If you sell your navel oranges fresh, you still have to pay the required fees, even if it’s a small sale.

A family grows navel oranges in their backyard to make juice for themselves and to decorate their yard.

They don’t have to follow these rules because the oranges are only for their own use. But they must sign a paper saying they won’t sell the oranges. If they later sell even a few oranges at a farmers market, they’ll have to pay the fees.
