§ 68102 Kiwifruit Home Use Exemption

• •If you grow kiwifruit just for your family or as decoration, some rules don’t apply to you.
• •You must tell the commission (by filing a paper) that your kiwifruit aren’t for selling.
• •Even if you grow kiwifruit just for yourself, you still have to pay some fees if you handle them like a seller would.

A family grows kiwifruit in their backyard only to eat at home and share with friends.

They don’t have to follow all the kiwifruit-selling rules, but they must tell the commission in writing that they’re not selling the fruit. If they start selling or treating their kiwifruit like a business, they’ll have to pay fees.
