§ 6925 Nursery Stock Shipment Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't move plants from one place to another in the same county or to a different county without following the rules.
  • •If you move plants, you need a special paper called a 'nursery stock certificate' or you have to send a list (manifest) to the person in charge at the destination.
  • •The list must include who is sending the plants, who is getting them, what kinds of plants they are, where they were grown, and how they are being sent.
  • •You don’t need this list if you’re only sending seeds.

Example

A farmer wants to send a truckload of young apple trees to a store in another county.

The farmer must either have a special paper (nursery stock certificate) for the trees or send a list to the person in charge at the store’s location. The list must say who the farmer is, who is getting the trees, how many apple trees are being sent, where they were grown, and that they are being sent by truck. If the farmer only sends apple seeds, no list is needed.
