§ 69027 Pistachio Producer Definition

Key Takeaways

  • •A 'producer' or 'grower' is someone who grows pistachios in the state to sell them.
  • •They must be able to show proof that they sell pistachios if asked.
  • •This rule is for people who are in the business of growing pistachios, not just for personal use.

Example

A farmer grows pistachios in their orchard and sells them at the local market.

This farmer is considered a 'producer' under the law because they grow pistachios to sell. If someone official asks, the farmer must show proof, like sales receipts, that they sell pistachios.
