§ 6405 Plant Certificate Fraud Prohibition

• •If a plant certificate is changed, messed up, or filled out wrong, it’s not valid.
• •You can’t change, mess up, or fake a plant certificate that comes with plants or other stuff entering the state.
• •You can’t use or have a fake or changed plant certificate.
• •You can’t move, get, or have plants that come with a fake or changed certificate.

You buy a box of fruit trees shipped to your state, and the certificate attached says the trees are disease-free. But someone scratched out some words and wrote new ones to make it look okay.

That certificate is now fake and not valid. If you know it’s changed and still keep it or use it, you’re breaking the law. You also can’t take or keep those trees if the certificate is fake.
