§ 62754 Producer Referendum Voting Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •Each farmer gets one vote, and they must vote by themselves—no group voting allowed.
  • •The vote is about whether to keep certain farming rules (Chapter 3.5) in place.
  • •Farmers must also share how much they produced last month, where they sold it, and their name and address.

Example

A group of dairy farmers is voting on whether to keep the rules about how milk is sold and priced.

Each farmer fills out a ballot saying 'Yes' or 'No' to keeping the rules. They also write down how much milk they sold last month and who they sold it to. No farmer can vote for another farmer—everyone votes for themselves.
