§ 62152 Handler License Revocation

Key Takeaways

  • •If you're a milk handler (someone who buys and sells milk), you must pay the farmers on time as agreed in your contract.
  • •If you don't pay the farmers on time, the director can take away or pause your license to handle milk.
  • •This rule is about making sure farmers get paid fairly and on time for the milk they sell.

Example

A milk handler buys milk from a dairy farm but doesn't pay the farmer for three months, even though the contract says payment is due in 30 days.

The director can suspend or revoke the milk handler's license because they didn't pay the farmer on time as promised.
