§ 59035 Major Marketing Order Amendments

Key Takeaways

  • •A 'major amendment' changes what a marketing order can do.
  • •It can add or remove rules for certain parts or uses of a product.
  • •It can also change who (producers or handlers) these rules apply to.

Example

A rule used to only apply to apples sold in stores, but now it also applies to apples used in apple juice.

This is a major amendment because it adds a new use (apple juice) to the rule that wasn’t there before.
