§ 59028 Major Marketing Order Amendments

Key Takeaways

  • •A big change to a marketing order is called a 'major amendment'.
  • •This happens when the order adds or removes rules about extra supply, keeping things stable, or what to do with leftover products.
  • •It can also happen if the order changes rules about the type, size, quality, or condition of a product.

Example

A group of orange farmers have rules about what to do with extra oranges they can't sell.

If they want to add a new rule saying they can make orange juice with the extra oranges, that would be a major amendment to their marketing order.
