§ 55744 Processor Dispute Enforcement

Key Takeaways

  • •If a company doesn't follow the rules in a contract to solve a problem, the government can step in.
  • •The company must follow the decision made by a third party (like a mediator) if the contract says so.
  • •If the company ignores the decision, you can complain to the government.

Example

You hire a company to fix your roof, and the contract says if there's a problem, you'll use a mediator to solve it.

If the mediator says the company must fix a leak but they don't, you can complain to the government, and they can make the company follow the rules.
