§ 55648 Lien Preservation After Judgment

A contractor sues a homeowner for not paying for a kitchen remodel and wins $10,000 in court. The contractor also has a lien on the house for the unpaid work.

The $10,000 the contractor wins in court doesn’t cancel the lien on the house. The homeowner still has to pay the lien, but the $10,000 will be used to reduce what’s owed on the lien.
