Key Takeaways

  • •You can't use or throw away fruits, nuts, or veggies if there's a special rule about how to handle them.
  • •You must follow the exact rule given for those foods—no other way is allowed.
  • •If you want to do something different, you need written permission from an officer.

Example

A farmer has a bunch of oranges that the government says must be turned into juice because they're not safe to eat fresh.

The farmer can't sell them fresh or feed them to animals. They must make juice unless they get special permission to do something else.
