§ 42762 Inspection Service Fees

Key Takeaways

  • •The government can charge fees for certain services, like inspections.
  • •The fees should be fair and based on how much the service actually costs.
  • •You might have to pay upfront for some services.

Example

You want to open a small restaurant and need a health inspection.

The government can charge you a fee for the inspection, but it should be close to what the inspection actually costs them to do. You might have to pay this fee before they even do the inspection.
