§ 36031 Milk Bottle Cap Restrictions

Key Takeaways

  • •Only the original bottler of milk can have extra bottle caps or labels.
  • •If you sell or handle milk, you can't have loose caps or labels unless they're already on the milk bottles when you get them.
  • •This rule helps make sure no one messes with the milk after it's bottled.

Example

A grocery store gets milk bottles from a dairy farm.

The store can't have extra milk caps or labels lying around. They can only have the ones that are already on the bottles when the dairy delivers them. If they have loose caps, they're breaking the law.
