§ 33764 Milk Container Sanitation Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •Milk containers must be washed really well after they're empty.
  • •After washing, the containers must be sterilized (cleaned with heat or chemicals to kill germs).
  • •The containers must be completely dry before they're used again.

Example

A dairy farm finishes delivering milk in glass bottles to stores.

Before the farm can use those bottles again, they must wash them, clean them to kill any germs, and make sure they're totally dry. If they don't, they could be breaking the law.
