§ 33512 Milk Area Sanitation Distances

• •Keep gross stuff like poop, dirty water, or trash far away from where cows are milked.
• •Don’t let smelly or dirty things get within 100 feet of the milk storage room.
• •Don’t let them get within 50 feet of where the cows are actually milked.

A farmer has a pile of cow manure right next to the barn where he milks his cows.

This is against the law because the manure is too close to where the cows are milked. It could make the milk dirty or unsafe.
