§ 29442 Officer Duty Enforcement Refusal

Key Takeaways

  • •If a police officer is given a job to do by their boss, they have to do it.
  • •If they don’t do it, they’re not doing their job right.
  • •This is about following orders from the boss, not about breaking big laws.

Example

A police officer is told by their boss to help with traffic control at a big game, but they decide to go home instead.

The officer didn’t do what their boss told them to do, so they’re not doing their job. This could get them in trouble at work.
