§ 24997 Poultry Condemnation Appeal Process

Key Takeaways

  • •If a poultry inspector says your chicken or turkey meat is bad, you can ask their boss to check again.
  • •If you still don’t agree with the boss’s decision, you can ask the big boss (Chief of the Bureau) to make the final call.
  • •The Chief’s decision is the last one—no more arguing after that.

Example

A chicken factory worker thinks the inspector was wrong to say their chicken is bad.

The worker can first ask the inspector’s boss to look at the chicken again. If they still think the chicken is fine, they can ask the Chief of the Bureau to decide. Whatever the Chief says is the final answer.
