§ 24126 Animal Substitution Prohibition

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't swap, add, or move animals from a group that has a certificate unless the inspector says it's okay in writing.
  • •This rule applies until the animals are shipped or slaughtered.
  • •Breaking this rule is a crime called a misdemeanor.

Example

A farmer has a group of cows with a certificate, and he wants to swap one sick cow with a healthy one from another group.

The farmer can't do this unless the inspector who gave the certificate writes a note saying it's okay. If he does it without permission, he can get in trouble with the law.
