§ 21203 Livestock Inspection Certificate Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •An inspector must check animals and sign a paper (certificate) with details about them.
  • •The paper must show where and when the check happened, how many animals, and what they look like (sex, brands, marks).
  • •If the animals are being moved, the paper must say who is sending them, where they’re going, and how long the trip will take.
  • •The paper is only good for the time the inspector writes on it—after that, it’s not valid for moving animals.

Example

A farmer wants to send 10 cows to another farm.

An inspector checks the cows and fills out a paper with details like how many cows, their brands, where they’re going, and how long the trip will take. The farmer can only use this paper to move the cows during the time written on it.
