§ 18694 Federal Act Compliance Scope

This law says that California follows federal rules for certain things, like food, drugs, and animals, but only if the federal rules don't conflict with California's own rules.

Key Takeaways

  • •California follows federal rules for some things, but not if they conflict with state rules.
  • •If a federal rule says something is okay but California says it's not, California's rule wins.
  • •This applies to things like food, drugs, and animals.

Example

A company sells medicine that is allowed by federal rules but banned in California.

California will follow its own rule and ban the medicine, even if the federal government says it's okay.
