§ 12786 Agricultural Pest Control Importance

This law says California thinks farming is super important, wants safer ways to fight bugs instead of chemicals, and says the state needs to be able to spot and stop pest problems to keep farms strong.

Key Takeaways

  • •Farming is a top priority for California.
  • •Finding safer, non‑chemical ways to control pests is a good idea.
  • •The state must be able to find, stop, and get rid of pest outbreaks to protect farms.

Example

A farmer notices a new type of insect hurting his crops and wants to use a natural bug‑repellent instead of a chemical spray.

The law supports the farmer looking for a safer alternative and lets the state help find the bug, tell the farmer how to get rid of it, and make sure the pest doesn’t spread to other farms.
