§ 9012 Initiative Petition Format Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •If you want to start a new law or vote on an existing one, you can split your request into parts.
  • •Each part must have the full title, summary, and exact words of the law you want to change.
  • •The words of the law must be printed in a font size that's at least 8 point (not too small to read).

Example

A group of people want to create a new law to make school lunches healthier.

They can split their request into different parts, like one part about fruits and another about vegetables. But each part must have the full title, summary, and exact words of the law they want to pass. Also, the words must be printed in a font size that's easy to read, not too tiny.
